Terms of Service

The service

Buildthru helps you plan and generate a website. In the current phase, you answer a short set of questions and we generate a free preview of a website for you. The preview uses AI-drafted placeholder text and licensed stock photography, and is provided for evaluation. Paid features - launching your site live, hosting, domain registration, and business email - are offered separately and are subject to additional terms and fees presented at purchase.

Eligibility & accounts

Access is currently invite-only. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must provide accurate information and a valid email address, which you agree to verify.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Buildthru to:

• create content for adult or escort services, gambling, weapons or illegal goods, political campaigns or advocacy, hate speech, or other prohibited businesses;
• attempt to misuse the assistant as a general-purpose tool, or to probe, attack, or overload the service;
• infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

Your content & ownership

You retain ownership of the business information and any materials you provide. You grant us a limited licence to use that information solely to operate the service and generate your website. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to anything you provide, and that your content is lawful. The Buildthru platform, software, and templates remain our property.

Previews are provided “as is”

Preview websites are generated automatically and provided without warranties of any kind. Placeholder content (including any sample names, phone numbers, or reviews) is fictional and for demonstration only. We do not guarantee that a preview is error-free, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

Domains & paid services (when available)

If you purchase domain registration through us, the domain is registered in your name and you own it; we act only as a facilitator with our registrar. Domain fees are generally non-refundable once a domain is registered, because our registrar charges immediately. Other fees, billing cycles, renewals, cancellation, and refund terms will be presented to you at the time of purchase.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Buildthru is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim (or, for the free preview, CA$0).

Termination & discontinuing the service

You may stop using Buildthru at any time. We may also end the relationship: we may suspend or terminate your account immediately for cause - including non-payment, abuse, or any breach of these Terms - and we may discontinue your service, or the Buildthru service as a whole, for any reason. Except where terminating for cause, we will give reasonable advance notice to the email on file (we aim for at least 30 days for an individual account, and at least 60 days if we wind the service down entirely).

We design the service so that ending it is a hand-off, not a loss of your work. If we discontinue your service, then, except where prohibited (for example, termination for unlawful content): any domain registered through us stays registered in your name and remains yours to keep or transfer; on request we will provide an export of your website files; and where your site stores data or takes payments, that data is exportable and payments continue to run through your own connected payment account. Once service ends, hosting and email forwarding we provide will stop, and control of your domain’s DNS returns to you.

We do not warrant that the service, your hosted site, or email forwarding will be available indefinitely. If we terminate without cause, we will refund the unused, prepaid portion of any recurring fee; fees already incurred (including domain registration) are non-refundable as described above.

Changes & governing law

We may update these Terms; continued use after changes means you accept them. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions? Email hello@buildthru.ca.
